The Confederation of African Football CAF on Thursday, released the various pots, ahead of the draws for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria qualified for the competition in grand style, defeating São Tomé and Príncipe 6-0 in their last group A game to top the group with 15 points from the available 18.
According to the pot released, host nation Cote d’Ivoire and Africa’s number one ranked team Morocco were placed in the pot 1.
They were joined by African champions Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt to complete pot 1.
Nigeria dropped to pot 2 and are joined by Cameroon, Mali, DR Congo, Burkina Faso, and Ghana.
Pot 3 has South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania.
The last pot consists of Guinea Bissau, Namibia, Mozambique, Angola, Gambia and Tanzania.
The draw is scheduled to hold on October 12, 2023.
