2023 Women Afrobasket Final: We Are Ready To Win “Very Good” Nigeria – Senegal Coach, Gaye

Senegal senior women’s basketball team coach Moustapha Gaye has acknowledged the fact of Nigeria’s D’Tigress being very good but assured of his team’s readiness to fight for the title.

Senegal defeated Mali by 75-65 on Thursday to advance to the final of the 2023 FIBA Afrobasket final where they will go up against Nigeria who on their part earlier dispatched host nation Rwanda in the semi final.

Gaye believes in his team’s ability to challenge D’Tigress of Nigeria for the title.

“We are preparing against a very good team. Some said Nigeria came without its stars but the team I saw is capable.

“However, I wish them to lose in the final. It’s a great team but we’re going to fight and do everything to win.

“We are in the final and we came to win. Senegal has arguments to put forward. It’s going to be a very interesting final. May the best win. I hope it will be us”, he said.

The final game is sheduled to hold on Saturday at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

The last time D’Tigress lost a game in the Women’s Afrobasket is 2015 against Cameroon in the semifinals.
