2024 Olympics Qualifier: Ethiopia Trash Chad To Face Super Falcons

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face Ethiopia in the second round of the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.

Ethiopia women’s national team on Sunday walloped Chad 10-0 on aggregate in their first round qualifying tie.

The Walia Ladies won the first leg 6-0 away from home to make the second leg a mere formality.

The East African team then did the double over their counterparts from Chad claiming a 4-0 victory in the second leg at the Abebe Stadium in Addis Ababa to qualify on a 10-goal aggregate.
Captain of the side and reigning Ethiopia’s Women Player of the Year Loza Abera scored the opener for Ethiopia after 11 minutes. Senaf Wakuma netted a brace to increase their lead to 3-0 before the break before Turist Lena made it 4-0 on the 89th minute for the home side.

Ethiopia will host the Super Falcons in the first leg, while the reverse fixture will hold in Nigeria.

The encounter is scheduled between 23-31, October 2023.

Only two countries will represent Africa in the women’s football event at the Paris 2024 games.
