Napoli forward Victor Osimhen believes that the Super Eagles have what it takes to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Osimhen, who made his debut in the competition in 2019 in Egypt, missed the last edition in Cameroon due to injury.
Super Eagles players and coaches officially honoured Osimhen, with a standing ovation, at the team’s Abu Dhabi camp, after winning the men’s African Player of the Year (POTY) award.
During the celebration, Osimhen says his team has what it takes to do well in the tournament.
“The most important thing for us now is to go to Ivory Coast and win the tournament.
“I believe in this group, we have a bunch of talented players to execute the job, fingers crossed and we are going to do so well”, he said.
Osimhen is expected to lead the Super Eagles attack when they square up against Equatorial Guinea in the opening group match.
