Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro and his assistants have arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in preparation for this month’s African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Portuguese tactician alongside his assistants arrived in UAE on Tuesday afternoon awaiting the arrival of the invited players.
Peseiro, last week Friday trimmed his initial 41-man provisional list to 25 players.
The invited players are expected to start arriving on Tuesday evening as training commences on Wednesday for the tournament.
The Super Eagles will engage in a mini-tournament in Abu Dhabi before moving to Cote d’Ivoire for the competition proper.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Kenneth Omeruo and Leke Ojo were part of the National team contingent that departed Nigeria for Dubai via EgyptAir at about 3:30pm on Tuesday Afternoon.
The contingent included team officials such as NFF Assistant Secretary General, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, Kit manager and assistant, Chidi and Mohammed Isa, as well as the team doctor.
Also, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey are flying on the same flight from Heathrow, London to the UAE.
Players like Sadiq Umar, Samuel Chukwueze are expected to join up from their club bases.
Nigeria is pitted in group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire , Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau at the AFCON.
