AFL: CAF Reschedules Wydad vs Enyimba 2nd Leg Clash After Morrocan Authorities Delayed Enyimba’s Flight

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a new date for the 2nd leg match between Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco and Nigeria’s representative Enyimba FC in the African Football League.

According to a press release from CAF, the return leg which was earlier slated for Wednesday October 25th, has now being moved to the next day Thursday, October 26th at the same venue.

Enyimba had planned to fly to Morocco on Monday evening aboard a chattered Air Peace plane but could not obtain the necessary landing permit from the Morrocan authorities after waiting for more than six hours at the Muritala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, Nigeria.

The People’s Elephant immediately wrote to CAF informing them about the situation and also demanded for a shift in the date as a result of the development.

At noon on Tuesday, the 40-man contingent of Enyimba International received positive signal from the Moroccan authorities to land in their country as the team finally flew out on Tuesday afternoon.

Another African Football League match which also suffers postponement is the clash between Esperance of Tunisia and TP Mazembe of DR Congo. The return fixture in Tunis has been moved from Wednesday to Thursday.
