African Games: Nigeria Loss To Egypt; To Play DR Congo In Handball Semi-final

Nigeria Men Handball national team, also known as the Golden Arrows, lost their last group game to Egypt 27-25 at the 13th Africa Games ongoing in Ghana.

The Coach Rafiu side stood up to the Africa Champion Egypt from the beginning of the match till the end with determination and only lost out to their opponents because of some turnovers which ensured that lost the match slimly.

The Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was at Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra, Ghana, to watch the match on the invitation of the President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Samuel Ocheho.

The result means Nigeria finished second on Group A with 4 points while Egypt has 6 points. For each victory, the team got 2 points.

Nigeria will play DR Congo in the semi-final on Wednesday. DR Congo defeated Kenya 45-31 to finish on top of group B with 6 points.

A victory for the Golden Arrows over DR Congo will see them qualify for the final of the Handball event for the first time in the history of the Africa Games.
