Barcelona Salutes Oshoala As Arsenal Legend Ian Wright Tells NFF To Pay Falcons

FC Barcelona Feminine has hailed Super Falcons of Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala after she helped her country to a valuable victory against Australia.

Oshoala came from the bench in the second half of the game to score Nigeria’s third goal which became the winning goal as the Super Falcons triumphed 3-2 over the Matildas of Australia.

The 2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League winners saluted Oshoala with the inscription “When you go out and scored in a World Cup” 💪 the club noted.

The goal ensured that Asisat Oshoala becomes the first African player to score at three different FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments.

The reigning Africa Women Footballer of the Year also joined the duo of Rita Nwadike and Nkiru Okosieme as the team’s joint goal scorer at the FIFA Women’s World Cup with three goals each.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and England’s legend Ian Wright has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay the Super Falcons their entitlements and other outstanding bonuses following their outstanding performance in the FIFA Women’s World Cup where they came from behind to defeat the co-host Australia 3-2.

The Englishman made the call via a tweet after he was dazzled by the performance of the team at the world cup.

In his tweet, Ian Wright wrote “pay them!!!!!!! NFF”, this followed the earlier uproar leading to the tournament over payment of match bonuses and alleged poor preparation by the coach Randy Waldrum.

The team had even threatened to go on strike for their first match of the FIFA Women’s World Cup against Canada.
