Nigerian striker Kingsley Eduwo scored two first half goals as Club Africain defeated Rivers United 3-0 in their CAF Confederation Cup matchday 3 encounter on Wednesday night at the Stade de Rades in Tunis.
The former Lobi Stars forward scored the opener for the home side in just six minutes of play following an assist from teammate Rami Bedoui.
Eduwo completed his brace on the stroke of halftime to double the lead for the Tunisians.
Rami Bedoui put the game beyond the reach of Rivers United after he scored the third goal of the 62nd minute to give Club Africain a comfortable 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Dreams FC of Ghana moved to second position in Group C with 9 points after defeating Academica do Lobito of Angola 4-0 at home, to complete a double over the Angolans.
Club Africain top Group C with nine points from four games while Rivers United dropped to third position with six points following the defeat.
The Pride of Rivers will travel away to Academica do Lobito for their next game in February, 2024, while Club Africain will visit Ghana for a clash with Dreams FC.
