CAF Champions League: Remo Stars beat Morocco’s AS FAR

Remo Stars defeated Morocco’s AS FAR 2-1 in 2-1 in their CAF Champions League first leg preliminary round clash in Ikenne on Sunday.

In front of a packed stadium, team captain Junior Nduka headed home in the 19th minute following a perfectly weighted free kick by right-back Sodiq Ismail.

The visitors equalised four minutes after the restart.

Remo took control of the game again after few changes from the sidelines as Ismail scored the winning goal from a header in the 63rd minute with Captain Nduka the provider.

Daniel Ogunmodede’s side created more chances afterwards but were let down by their poor finishing.

The reverse fixture will hold next Sunday in Morocco.
