CAFCC: Eguma Banks On Home Support To Overcome Etoile Filante In Return Leg

Technical Adviser of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma is already banking on their home fans for the second leg encounter against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso, following their goalless draw in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup in Yamoussoukro, Cote D’Ivoire.

The Pride of Rivers welcome Etoile Filante in the second leg match slated for the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt in a fortnight.

And Eguma is already looking forward to having the home fans cheer his team to victory.

”It was not 100 percent performance because this is the first time we will be in a competitive competition but I gave them kudos.

“Our tactical plans didn’t fail us, we dominated the game and created more chances, by the time we work more on these tactics the goals will come.

It is good to play at home, it is our fortress and we hoping our fans will come and cheer us.

This is a new team and we want our fans to come and cheer us. I assure them, they’re going to enjoy good football and possibly we are going to cap it up with a victory”, Eguma said.

The winner of the two-legged tie will progress to the group stage of the competition.

Rivers United were eliminated at the quarter-final stage of last season’s CAF Confederation Cup by Young Africans of Tanzania.
