The Pride of Rivers progressed to the group stage of the competition following their 2-0 aggregate victory over Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the second preliminary play-off round.
The former Nigeria league champions hosted the Burkinabes at the Adokie Amasiamaka Stadium in the return leg.
According to the release, Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo was the only stadium approved for Rivers United.
The Pride of Rivers is placed in Group C alongside Club Africain (Tunisia), Dream FC ( Ghana), and APC Lobito ( Angola).
