Players of Nigeria Women Football League Champions, Delta Queens Football Club of Asaba have been charged to go all out for victory against their Ghanaian counterparts Ampem Darkoa Football Club in the final of the WAFU-B Zone qualifiers of the CAF Women’s Champions League taking place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa who gave the charge in Asaba during an interview with journalists said the Nigerian champions had the capacity to pick the ticket to represent the WAFU- B Zone at the CAF Women’s Champions League which has been scheduled to hold in Cote D’Ivoire in November.

Chief Okowa said that the Asaba based outfit had come from a goal down to beat Athletico Football Club of Cote D’Ivoire in the semi-final stage stressing that only a club with a winning mentality can lift itself from a position of losing to winning.

He said that the players must remain focused as they are currently the beacon of hope for Nigerian women football and they must do all within their powers to give Nigerians something to cheer especially as the nation was rallying behind them to fly the country’s flag in the elite CAF Women’s club competition.

Chief Okowa while assuring the players of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to their welfare said they cannot disappoint the Governor as he is their number one supporter and would go the length to ensure that he made them comfortable.

He however called on Nigerians to come out in their numbers to support Delta Queens Football Club of Asaba when they face Ampem Darkoa in the final on Thursday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
