FIBA Women Ranking: D’Tigress move up 7 places, Jump To 11th

Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress moved up seven places to 11th with 528.9 points in the latest FIBA Women World Ranking presented by Nike on Wednesday in Switzerland.

The climb comes following D’Tigress’ impressive performance at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket, where they won the title for the fourth consecutive time.

Mali, who finished third at the tournament, made a huge leap of 13 places to 16th with 362.1 points, while silver medalists Senegal enjoyed an increase of 11 places to 316.3 points and are the last African team occupying a position in the top 20.

The United States of America remain world number one while China remains in second place having won the 2023 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup.

Australia, Spain and Canada complete an unchanged top five while 2023 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket champions, Belgium leapfrogged neighbours France to secure sixth spot with 654.6 points.
