Handball League: Rivers Queens, Tojemarine continue impressive run

Rivers Queens continued their impressive run in the 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League Phase 1 ongoing in Benin City, Edo State.

On Tuesday, day 8, the Port Harcourt outfit defeated Delta Queens 35-29 while Rima Queens won big as they defeated Bendel Dynamos 41-27.

COAS Babes earned their first win of the season after beating Seasider Babes of Lagos 30-25 while Plateau Peacocks defeated Imo Grasshoppers 27-22.

In an Abuja derby match, defending champion Safety Babes comfortably defeated Defender Babes 36-25.

In the men’s category, Adamawa Warriors earned a shocking 32-26 victory over Seasider Boys of Lagos to earn the first win of the season.

Defending champions Niger United returned to winning ways with an emphatic 35-24 victory over Sunshine Kings while Tojemarine Academy continue to lead the league log following their tough 30-28 victory over Rima Strikers of Sokoto.

Former champion Safety Shooters played out a pulsating 29-29 draw with rival De Defenders in what is an Abuja derby affair while Benue Buffaloes and Correction Boys also played out a 29-29 draw as well.
