Home-Based Super Eagles Would’ve Beaten Lesotho In Uyo – Oliseh

Former Super Eagles captain and coach, Sunday Oliseh has lambasted Jose Peseiro’s side following their 1-1 draw against Lesotho in their opening Group C fixture of the 2026 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Thursday evening.

The Crocodiles of Lesotho scored the opening goal in the 56th minute of the game through Motlomelo Mkhwanazifor before Semi Ajayi saved the Super Eagles from further embarrassment after he equalized through a corner kick in the 67th minute, inside a full Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Oliseh, just like many followers of Nigerian football, felt the Super Eagles didn’t meet up with their expectations as the 153rd-ranked Lesotho walked away from Uyo with a valuable point.

Oliseh expressed his disappointment on his X account on Friday.

“Haba This nightmare go ever end? Woke up to this shocker this morning. “Our Home based suppose dey beat Lesotho na! Dem even first us score!!!! “The painful part be say, no consequences for these national embarrassments self!.”

“Ha! Will these nightmares ever end? I woke up this morning to see this shocker. “Our Home-based Super Eagles would’ve beaten Lesotho! They (Lesotho) even scored the first goal!!!
“The painful part is that, there are no consequences for these national embarrassments!.”

The Super Eagles will be hoping to get all three points in their second group game against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in Rwanda on Sunday.
