I joined Tabora Utd because of money – John Noble

Former Enyimba goalkeeper and captain John Noble has revealed that he signed with Tanzanian team Tabora United for the next campaign because of the financial benefits.

Noble justified his decision despite winning the NPFL title with Enyimba United and qualifying for the CAF Champions League.

Noble said Tabora United’s offer was quite appealing, considering it was three times his existing salary.

“Football is just about money, and knowing fully well that you’re not going to play forever.
“When you are offered three times your current wages, I think everyone will just joyfully have to make that move. We have families and we have people looking up to us, at the end of the day, they don’t care where you play but what you achieved.

“Money is the reason why I came here (Tanzania), and time Waits for no man.”

“I’ve played three years with Enyimba and it was a fantastic experience with them. When I got the offer, I looked at it and compared it with what I was receiving at Enyimba, I told myself I had to go to Tanzania and see what I can do. Money is the reason why I came here and time waits for no man, the 30-year-old said.

The shot-stopper spent eight years at Togolese club, ASC Kara before linking up with Enyimba in 2020.

Noble was part of the Super Eagles’ 28-man squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Cameroon.

Tabora United were promoted to the Tanzanian top-flight last season.

The new season in the East African country will start next month.
