Meet NYG’s Youngest Athlete, Five-year-old Nahome Ehi Onoja Of Team Benue

The National Youth Games is ongoing in Asaba, Delta State, with a good majority of the events and activities happening at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium.

Thousands of athletes, coaches, officials and newsmen from the thirty-six states of the Federation, and The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, can be seen around the various centers where the events are held.

Youngest amongst all the participants is five-year-old Nahome Ehi Onoja from Benue State, representing Team Benue.

Born on the 1st of November, 2017, Nahome is a chess player who hails from Orokamu in Ogbadibo Local Government Area.

Young miss Onoja, who turns six in November, is a Basic 1 pupil of Ivydo Nursery and Primary School, Logo 1, Makurdi.

The five-year-old beauty hails from a chess family. She is coached by her father, Andrew Sunday Onoja, who also coaches her older brother, nine-year-old Basic 5 pupil, Ismael Eboh Onola. Both father and older brother are also here in Asaba.
