NFF Budgets ₦14.5 Billion For Next Year’s Expenditure As NPFL Gets New Name

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has budgeted over fourteen billion naira for next year’s expenditure.

During it’s 79th Annual General Assembly held at Monty Suites Hotel in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Sunday September 10th, NFF Congress approved the total sum of N14.49 Billion. However details of the budget breakdown was not made public.

“The Congress approved the Nigeria Football Federation’s 2024 Budget proposal of the sum of N14,494,469,293.00 (Fourteen Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety-Four Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-Nine Thousand and Two Hundred and Ninety-Three Naira) only,” the federation said in a press statement.

The Congress also approved the change of name of the Nigeria Professional Football League to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Congress hailed the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, for his readiness to work with the federation. It also passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Committee of the NFF led by Ibrahim Gusau.

The Congress pledged its full support for the Super Eagles quest for qualification to 2026 FIFA World Cup and hailed the Super Falcons for their impressive showings at this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup. However, nothing was said about the fate of Super Falcons Coach, Randy Waldrum.
