Super Eagles forward, Samuel Chukwueze has told Nigerians to start making preparations for next year’s AFCON after their game against Sierra-Leone.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are scheduled to face Sierra Leone on Sunday, June 18th, with the aim of safeguarding their spot in the 2023 AFCON tournament.
Jose Peseiro’s side face Sierra Leone, knowing that a win or draw would secure their place in the 2023 AFCON tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.
“Nigerians should expect a win because we have to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations,”
“They should just book their tickets because we are going to win and go there [to the finals in Ivory Coast].
“We want to win the Afcon for sure because we have great young talents and we have young players who are actually ready to fight.
“For me, I need to win a trophy with the Super Eagles because I cannot play to the end of my career without winning any trophy with the Super Eagles. This is our time.” Chukwueze asserted.
The Group A matchday 5 encounter will take place at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia on Sunday, June 18 by 5pm Nigerian time.
