NPFL Final Rumble In Lagos: Enyimba, Rivers United, Remo Fight For Title

The NPFL comes to a glorious end this Sunday June 11th at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos with three teams, Enyimba, Rivers United and Remo Stars all fighting for the title.

While Enyimba currently tops the table with 8pts, same with Rivers United but ahead on goal difference, Remo on the other hand has 6pts.

With Rivers United and Enyimba already guaranteed continental tickets, the real battle is who wins the league, just as Remo Stars will not only get continental trip if they win their match against Bendel Insurance, the club could as well win the league in a dramatic fashion.

The winner of the league and the second-placed team will qualify for the CAF Champions League this year while the team that finishes third will secure a ticket for the CAF Confederation Cup competition.

So, here are the possible scenarios:

  1. If Remo Stars beats Insurance by a margin of 2 goals or more and, Enyimba and Rivers United draw, Remo wins the league.
  2. If Rivers United beats Enyimba and Remo Stars win, then Rivers United wins the league, while Remo comes second and Enyimba third.
  3. If Enyimba beats Rivers United and Remo wins, then Enyimba wins the league, while Remo comes second and Rivers United third.
  4. If Enyimba and Rivers United draw and Remo fails to beat Bendel Insurance, then Enyimba will win their 9th league title, with Rivers United second and, either Remo or Insurance coming third.

So far, Enyimba and Remo have scored the most goals, while Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Enyimba have conceded the least goals.
