Okemmiri Ogbonna is a retired Nigerian defender who played left-back position. He was not only a footballer but he also played sand football for Sand Eagles.
He was born on the 13th of June, 1986 and is one of the greatest players in the Nigerian Professional Football League. He played for Enyimba FC where he won two CAF champions league trophy with the People’s Elephant.
He featured in Npfl clubs like Bendel Insurance, Abia warriors, Kwara united, Nasarawa United and Enyimba FC.
Although blind in the right eye, he still played great football in his days. Okemmiri was invited to the Super Eagles of Nigeria but unfortunately he failed to make the final cut in the squad.
Okemmiri was invited to the Nigeria beach soccer team known as “SAND EAGLES” through Coach kadiri Ikhana due to his aggressiveness and stamina.
He won the beach soccer nation’s cup for the first time alongside his teammate Abu Azeez, Copa Lagos and was also in Rio de janeiro, Brazil in 2006, Dubai in 2009 and Italy in 2011.
