Sporting Lagos on Monday evening thrashed Kano Pillars 3-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
Veteran NPFL marksman, Junior Lokosa gave Sporting Lagos the lead in the 12th minute before Jonathan Alukwu made it 2-0 for the Lagos-based side on the 28th minute, his fourth goal of the season. Lokosa completed the rout with his second strike in the 36th minute, leaving Sai Masu Gida empty handed.
The victory moves Sporting Lagos to sixth position on the table with eleven points.
At the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, Lobi Stars of Makurdi handed hosts Bayelsa United their second home defeat of the season.
Remo Stars had earlier in the season defeated Bayelsa United in Yenagoa.
Tiza Lorwuese scored the opener for Lobi Stars in the 29th minute of the match before NPFL Lethal striker Robert Mizo equalized for the hosts in the 42nd minute.
Tiza completed his brace in the 67th minute which ensured maximum points for the Makurdi-based side.
Lobi Stars now joins Doma United and Remo Stars as the only three sides to have recorded away wins in the ongoing season’s Nigeria Premier Football League so far.
