NPFL Postpones Draws By One Week

The board of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has postponed the draws for the 2023/2024 league season.

The postponement was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon by the Secretary of the NPFL Clubs Owners, Godwin Enakhena, as the new date was also made known immediately.

The draw was initially scheduled to hold on the 17th of August but has now been shifted to the 24th of August, 2023, same day as the AGM which is scheduled for August 24.

The postponement is said to be agreed by the Club Owners who suggested that the draw and AGM should hold same day.

There are also reports that the NPFL might also have been postponed by two weeks by the league board to allow the organisers to properly prepare for a full season.

The league’s board had earlier scheduled the weekend of August 26th as the kickoff date for the 2023/24 NPFL season, but the start as wildly believed has now been postponed to the weekend of Sept 9th, 2023.

Enyimba International is the defending champions of the league after they emerged champions after the Super Six playoffs which was held in Lagos.
