Enyimba head coach, Finidi George, has expressed his dissatisfaction over the officiating in his side’s Nigeria Professional Football League Super Six playoffs ecounter against Bendel Insurance.
Bendel Insurance came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against eight-time Nigerian champions Enyimba FC in the first fixture of Wednesday June 7th at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
Enyimba had two penalty claims turned down in the match.
Chijioke Mbaoma was brought down inside the box on two occasions by Insurance defenders, but no penalty was awarded by the referee.
Finidi expressed his grievances and described the officiating from the center referee as poor.
“You all can see how our penalty calls were neglected after Mbaoma was hacked down twice inside their box.
“The officiating was poor. We deserve more from this game, but we have to put it behind us.
“We will focus on the next game, hopefully the result will be better than what we have today.”
Enyimba FC remain on top of the table with five points after one win and two draws from three matches.
The People’s Elephant will face Sunshine Stars in their next fixture on Friday June 9th.
