NPL Board Sets August 29 For Annual Meeting And Season’s Draw With Club Stakeholders

The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Board has scheduled this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) with the 20 NPFL club representatives for Tuesday, August 29 ahead of the League’s September 9th Kickoff date.

Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL in a notice sent to all 20 participating clubs, explained that the date will allow for an effective discussion for a proper organisation of the upcoming season’s activities.

The notice to the clubs which was sent through electronic means also stated that the Draw Event for the 2023/24 season will hold on the same event and date as the AGM in Abuja.

The clubs were reminded that players registration which commenced earlier will still continue and they were urged to use the available window before kickoff to complete the documentation process for their squad for easy transition into the new season.

This will be the first AGM between the clubs and the new NPFL Board headed by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye after their inauguration.

The Board last week set up a Technical Committee for the selection of NPFL Team of the Month and an eventual All-star team at the end of the campaign that will go on a tour of Spain at the instance of a top LaLiga club.

Elegbeleye, during the inauguration of the nine member selection committee revealed that the process could help the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) form a nucleus of the next CHAN Eagles.
