Officiate Responsibly To Encourage Sponsors Of The League – NFF President Charges Referees

The President of Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusua has charged the NNL, NWFL and NLO Referees and Assistant Referees participating at the 2023/2024 pre-season Physical Fitness Test going on at the Sports Complex, University of Benin to leave up to their billings.

Addressing them through telephone conversation during their classroom lecture at the lecture hall of law faculty UNIBEN, Alhaji Gusua informed them that the league will not commence untill the federation secures sponsorship of their league, to enable them pay indemnity to match officials in the coming season.

He admonished the Referees to make sure that they own an Android phone they will use to send the E-copy of their match report on or before Mid-night of the day of their match to the General Secretary of the NFF, Chairman NFF Referees’ Committee and the Chief Executive Officer their league, on the day of their match; warning that any Referee that falls short of that should consider himself or herself out of the league.

He reiterated further that to whom much is given, much will also be expected urging them, especially the Referees not to kill the league through their officiating to encourage sponsors have value for their investment.

In their response the participants in unison agreed to comply fully with his directives.
