Erstwhile Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is eyeing a return to the national team after missing out in action at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Okoye had a poor campaign last season while playing for Watford at Sky Bet Championship, as lingering injuries limited his playing time for the Hornets.
Last summer, the 24-year-old secured a permanent move to Serie A side Udinese in a bid to revive his career.
The shot stopper who currently starts on a regular basis at Udinese hopes to get a shot at international football again.
“I’m very well now. I feel 100%,” Okoye told the club’s official website.
”The national team is an important thing for me, and I want to return as soon as possible. It was bad watching the Africa Cup of Nations from home, but this is football.”
Okoye has made 16 appearances for the Super Eagles.
