The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has summoned Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel and two of his Fenerbahce teammates to appear before its disciplinary committee.
Osayi-Samuel and his teammates were involved in a brawl with Trabzonspor fans after a Turkish Super Lig game last month.
Trabzonspor fans invaded the pitch in anger after losing 3-2 at home to Fenerbahce, prompting the Nigerian defender and his teammates to be involved in a fight with the fans.
The attacks took place after the Fenerbahce players and coaching staff celebrated their victory with goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic being punched in the face.
Osayi-Samuel punched one of the supporters who ran onto the pitch with his face masked, with Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde accused of kicking the same supporter.
According to the rules and regulations of the Turkish FA, the players could face a lengthy ban of up to 10 matches if found guilty.
Thirteen Trabzonspor supporters were arrested with five placed in pre-trial detention.
It was the latest violent incident to affect Turkish football this season.
Fenerbahce members are set to vote on Tuesday April 2, on whether the club will follow through with a threat to withdraw from Turkey’s Super Lig following such fan attacks.
