Plateau United have been charged for breaching the Nigeria Premier Football League Framework and Rules in the course of their Matchday 15 fixture at Kwara Utd on Thursday, December 21.
Players and officials of Plateau United harassed the match officials after the game in Ilorin, an act of misconduct capable of bringing the game to disrepute.
Plateau United failed to ensure proper conduct of their players and officials, resulting in the harassment and intimidation of the referee after the match.
A fine of N1 million has been imposed on Plateau Utd for misconduct and failure to ensure proper conduct of their players and officials.
Plateau United’s Jimmy Ambrose and Charles Henlong have been suspended for the next three matches and the club’s team manager Iliya Abel is also suspended for the next three matches for his inciting and unsporting conduct.
Plateau United have been warned of facing stiffer sanctions if there is a similar recurrence of such conduct.
Plateau Utd have 48 hours from the date of notice to appeal these sanctions.
