Plateau United Unveils New Technical Adviser And Chief Coach

  • Dissolves Existing Technical Crew

Ahead of the fast approaching Nigeria Premier League NPL season, the Management of 2017 NPFL Champions, Plateau United Football Club of Jos has unveiled a new Technical Adviser and Chief Coach for the team.

They are former Rangers International of Enugu Chief Coach, Mbwas Mangut and Patrick Mancha who qualified Plateau United back to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL in 2016.

The dou were unveiled at an elaborate ceremony held at the Club House in Jos.

Speaking at the occasion, General Manager of the Club, Habila Hosea Mutla said management decided to start from home by bringing in the two coaches who have contributed immensely to the development of the team and the game.

Mutla explained that Plateau State has produced some of the best coaches in the country, that is why his management deems it fit to start from home by appointing the two indigenous coaches who also played for the team in the past.

“We thanked the Coaches for their efforts in leading the team to success both in Nigeria and the continent. But as management, we decided to come down home and after a careful study of our coaches, we settled for Mbwas and Patrick Mancha who have contributed greatly to the success of the team in the past” Habila said.

Permanent Secretary, Plateau State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Rotmwa Konga congratulated the new General Manager and his assistant on their recent appointments and assured them of the Ministry’s support and collaboration to enable them succeed.

The Permanent Secretary urged the newly unveiled Coaches to do their work diligently and faithfully knowing fully well that they will give account of their stewardship before God one day.

The new Technical Adviser of the team, Coach Mbwas Mangut while thanking the management for finding him and his assistant worthy to tinker the team promised to give their best for the success of the team.

He solicited the support and cooperation of all and sundry to enable deliver on their mandate assuring that they will work assiduously to win laurels for the team.

The two coaches signed a three year contract which ends in 2026.

The well attended  occasion attracted Members of the Plateau Football Coaches Association, Plateau Referees Council, members of the Sports Writers Association, SWAN and other critical stakeholders.

The two coaches are expected to resume duties on Thursday.

Meantime, following the appointment of a new Technical Adviser and Chief Coach for the team, the management of Plateau United has announced dissolution of the existing technical crew of the main team with immediate effect.

According to the General Manager of the Club, Habila Mutla, the coaches are free to apply again as vacancies still exist in the team.

He said efforts are on by management of the team to recruit new under 15 players and the female team so as to fulfil the Club Licencing requirements by the Interim League Management (IMC) of the Premier League.

The General Manager disclosed that the teams will be recruited in the three Senatorial Zones of Plateau State from next week.
