Rivers State Coaches Association Gets New Executive As Briggs Emerge Chairman

The Rivers state Coaches Association Under the State Ministry of Sports and other Sports Clubs in Rivers State on Friday the 21st of July 2023 conducted her election to get new officers to run it’s affairs for the next 4years.

The keenly contested election which took place at basketball Stadium boxing gym 59 Niger street Port Harcourt had MRS ASIGOBOKA BRIGGS emmerged as the CHAIRMAN while MR PETER SIMON – VICE CHAIRMAN, and MIMI MIE-IYENE – got the position of SECRETARY.

Others elected include QUEENTH NWACHUKWU – FINANCIAL SECRETARY, GIFT OTUONYE- WAlFARE OFFICER, KAREEM HAKEEM- TREASURER & AMORU NOMA as the PRO.

Rivers State Coaches Association which is an umbrella body of all sporting associations in Rivers State have about 35 Sports Associations which includes football, with the main aim and Objective to unite the Coaches, and to work towards Coaches welfare to raise the morale of the Coaches for better productivity.

The new Chairman Mrs Briggs who is of the Weighting and athletics Association at the National Sports Festival in Abuja in 2004, won 2 gold medals in athletics with festival record in Hammer throw and 3 bronze medals while in KADA Kaduna festival, she won 3 silver in weightlifting event.

Mrs Briggs took over from her predecessor Coach Inumama Williams of the Volleyball Association.
