South Africa No longer Fear Nigeria – Banyana Banyana Goalkeeper Kaylin Boasts

South Africa’s women national team goalkeeper, Kaylin Swart has stated that Banyana Banyana are no longer scared of Nigeria’s Super Falcons when it comes to women’s football in Africa.

Kaylin stated this when she featured on a TV program, “Africa Spot On” on super sports on Thursday evening in South Africa.

She noted that gone are the days when Nigeria had the fear factor and dominated women’s football at all levels of every competition, stressing that over time, they have to step up and improve themselves technically and tactical to close the gap between Nigeria and South Africa.

“Nigeria dominated Africa for many many years and were ahead of us in every competition, they used to be a step higher even at the world cup and at the Olympics”

“We have to work hard and improve ourselves technically and tactical to close the gap over time and play with confidence, and now we no longer fear them”

Nigeria, South Africa and Morocco all made it through to the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA women’s world cup in Australia and New Zealand before crashing out in the knockout stage of the competition.
