The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has put on hold the Matchday 13 fixture between Rivers United and Sporting Lagos.
This game was earlier scheduled for the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Stadium in Onikan, Lagos.
However, the stadium became unavailable due to the four giant screens that were mounted on a big stage at the centre of the pitch as a result of the ongoing AFCON.
The match was later moved to Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne and slated to be played on Thursday (today), February 8th, but also failed to hold, resulting in an indefinite postponement of the game.
A letter addressed to the affected clubs reads; “Sequel to the unavailability of Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State, to host the above earlier proposed game.
“Kindly be informed that the above Matchday 13 fixture has been put on hold, new dates will be communicated to affected teams and match officials accordingly.”
Rivers United has now turned our focus to their rescheduled matchday 15 tie against Shooting Stars FC that will be held at the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan on Saturday, 10th February 2024.
