Super Eagles drop in latest FIFA ranking

Super Eagles’ recent poor results have seen the team drop eight places in the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday morning.

The three-time African champions dropped eight places from last April’s 30th position to number 38 in the world.

Consequently, the Eagles slumped to 5th position in Africa from its previous 3rd position.

Following their second place finish at the African Cup of Nations, Nigeria has lost two and drawn two matches, including two World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic, under the reigns of Finidi George.

Morocco remains Africa’s best moving a step forward from 13th position to 12th in the world.

Senegal dropped from 17th to 18th while Egypt moved from 37th to 36th on the ladder to complete the top three in Africa.

In fourth position is Africa champions, Cote d’Ivoire, moving from 38th to 37th while Nigeria, dropped drastically from 30th position in April ranking to 38th in the latest ranking.
