Super Falcons drop two places in lastest FIFA ranking

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have dropped two places in the latest FIFA women’s world ranking released on Friday.

The Falcons dropped from 32nd position to 34th.

However, the nine-time African champions maintained their number-one spot in Africa, despite the drop on the world stage.

The previous ranking which was released in August saw the Falcons move eight places from 40th to 32nd, due to their impressive performance at this year’s women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

On Monday, Nigeria won the Best Women’s National Team of 2023 at the recent CAF awards in Marrakech, Morocco.

The Super Falcons will feature at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Meanwhile, current women’s world champions Spain were ranked number one for the first time.

At number two is former FIFA women’s World Cup winners USA, France occupy the third spot, England remain fourth and Sweden drop to fifth.

The next FIFA women’s world ranking will be released in March 2024.
