Super Falcons To Camp In Australia For 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s senior female football team, the Super Falcons will camp in Australia ahead of their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

To be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, the former African champions will observed a 15-day camping in the host nation prior to the commencement of the tournament on Thursday, July 20.

Disclosing this in a press statement on Friday, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF noted that the nine-time Africa champions will begin the final phase of their camping on July 4.

“Nine-time African champions Nigeria, will arrive in Australia on Tuesday, 4th July for a 15-day final camping programme before the finals begin on 20th July,” the federation said.

Paired in Group B along co-host, Australia, Canada and Republic of Ireland, Nigeria will begin their campaign at the World Cup on July 21 with a clash against Olympic champions, Canada at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Melbourne.

On July 27, the Randy Waldrum led ladies will file out against Republic of Ireland at the Lang Park, Brisbane

They will round off their preliminary campaign on July 31st with a clash against co-host nation, Australia at the same stadium.

The Super Falcons are participating in their nineth consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup having missed no edition since the tournament started in China in 1991.
