Nigeria’s handball team ended their campaign in the ongoing 10th IHF Women’s Youth (U18) World Championship in Chuzhou, China, on a losing note.
Nigeria suffered an 18-21 defeat to Kosovo in their last placement match to finish last (24th) among the teams that competed in the competition.
The Nigerian girls lost their opening Group B games against Croatia (31-11) and Montenegro (26-9) before mustering a win over Angola (29-21), which allowed them to qualify for the President’s Cup.
The team failed to live up to expectations in the President’s Cup staged at the Olympic Sports Centre, losing to Chile (22-23) and Austria (33-14).
In the placement matches, debutants Nigeria lost to Chinese Taipei (22-29) before losing their last placement match to Kosovo.
