The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Professor Placid Njoku, will declare the 2023 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball Leagues, open today, June 5, 2023 by 2pm.
The Chairman of League Organising Committee (LOC), Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Imo Command, Okey Ezugwu disclosed this during a meeting of the LOC, in Owerri on Sunday.
The National Volleyball Leagues will be held from June 5 to 13, at the Owerri International Stadium in Owerri, Imo State.
Ezugwu who doubles as the 2nd Vice President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation said the Imo State Government has been supportive to the Nigeria Volleyball Federation since she arrived in the State.
She said, “The Governor would have loved to attend the opening ceremony but his schedule is very tight that is why he delegated the Deputy Governor, Professor Placid Njoku to declare the leagues open.
“I am optimistic this league will open a new page for partnership between the Imo State Government and the Nigeria Volleyball Federation”.
