World Athletics Rankings: Amusan Drop 8 Places To 33rd Position

The World Athletics has released the latest athletes rankings, ahead of this weekend’s Diamond League final in Eugene, Oregon, USA.

Nigeria’s Tobiloba Amusan dropped to the 33rd position from her previous 25th position, according to the latest ranking released.

The Nigerian track star who ranked as fifth best in the world at the beginning of the year and number one in her event following her triumph at last year’s World Athletics Championships has also dropped from second to third in the hurdles.

Amusan, with a total of 1414 points score will have to run close or beat her 12.12secs world record run if she has the intention of topping the Olympic champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn who amassed 1437 points to stay on top of the standings. Former world record holder, Kendra Harrison is second with a total point of 1420.

Tobi Amusan lost her world title last month in Budapest, Hungary, and will hopefully aim for a title defense this weekend in the Wanda Diamond League.
